Harmony Mountain is a melting pot of materials and cultural elements that flow together to create one harmonious environment. The serenity of its unique location anchors an architectural style reflective of an Italian villa mixed with influences from the Far East. The circle is the dominating geometry, and soft forms curve and roll in every aspect of the structure to carry you throughout the retreat center. The view is a primary element, and upon entering the highest point in Waverly, Pennsylvania it is readily accessed through dozens of panes of glass. The vanishing edge pool amplifies its power, but the dominating view is a soft one, and its calmness pervades. As you move through the retreat center, you may feel as though you are walking amongst the clouds. A striking mix of stones and other materials were carefully hand selected from all over the world. Throughout the retreat center the fusion of cultural elements can be clearly seen. The exterior has a Vermont slate roof. Inside, the main flooring is Jerusalem Limestone with honey onyx details. The master bath is encompassed by light green onyx which originates in Pakistan. And, each counter top has a marble or granite ranging from Irish Moss at the pool house to Brazilian Blue Macauba in a guest bathroom. The textures, patterns, and tones of the art and fabrics are kneaded together from around the globe to create a peaceful interior. A majority of the art comes from renowned artist, Jamali who was born in Peshawar. From a French line Tete de Tete sofa in the living room, and Italian Scavo Glass lighting fixtures in the dining room, to a hand carved dining room table for 16 from Columbia and the Tibetan rugs throughout – the entire world is represented in the estate. The finishings in the retreat center are masterful. Venetian Plaster installed by master artisans attune to nature with their soft color palette and delicately embossed leaf patterns. All of the wood is naturally colored and there are no artificial stains or materials of any sort. Figured Anigre, otherwise known as Anigeria of a West African descent, manifests in the primary curved wall. Sappelle Makore, another wood species used in the study is also of African origin. Harmony Mountain has so much to offer retreat go-ers. There are private retreat areas throughout the property: a home theater in the basement, a suede-lined music niche and oxygen bar discretely tucked into the living room, a meditation space hidden off of the master bedroom… Step outside over heated stepping stones to a waterfall adorned spa experience carved right out of the natural earth. Peruse the hiking trails, the Asian Gardens, the rolling fire-pit garden or take a meditative stroll through the grass and stone labyrinth on the East Lawn.
